bocos del toro- cruising around with the boys

so for one of the days on bocos matt, alex and i hired bikes and went for a leisurely ride around the island- or at least it started that way. we picked up the bikes and cruised along flat ground for a few kms- dreaming of beer, magically, on the side of the road a beer brewery appeared (of course) so we chained our bikes up and stopped for some tastings.

beginning of the ride- note, the flat ground.

moving on, we ended up deciding to ride to a beach which was about 12km away across the island- all good in theory, however it turns out that 12kms was all hills. if you've ever ridden a bike with no gears before up hill, you'll understand that it becomes less riding, more pushing of bike uphill. so we didn't quite make it to the beach, deciding to turn around at the half way point bat cave (yep, that's right, i said bat cave, complete with mother mary statues) and head back to grab another beer and a beach which was on flat land. alex continually blamed the australians for this apparent shit decision to ride to the beach 12kms away- but i'm pretty sure he loved it haha a good day

the only way to ride- downhill.
