hitting up tagonga

i left bogota at 2pm on wednesday and flew to santa marta (there was about 40 aus difference in price between flying and a bus- the bus took 16 hours and the flight 1.5) i chose to fly. landing at the domestic terminal, I looked over the 2 people next to me to see out the window and to my absolute stokedness- there was the ocean. i automatically felt better. getting off the plane, the air was a rush of warmth on my skin. I’m a summer person through and through, so this was amazing after being in a slightly colder place. it took me 10 minutes max to get out of the airport (domestic=joy) and get in a cab bound for tagonga. the cab ride between santa marta and tagonga is about 15 minutes give or take (give a little more if your taxi driver is running on empty and needs to stop to get fuel).

tagonga is a beach side fishing village just over the hill from santa marta. after the past few epic days, all I wanted to do was chill. found a hostel in the lonely planet that offered multiple hammocks, good food and a bed to rest my head- so I headed there and away from the bigger city. sweeetttt!!

the police here ride segways... yep.
